Some of you may remember that I was part of the Schoolhouse Review Crew in 2013, during which time I had the honor of reviewing many wonderful products, one being the SchoolhouseTeachers.com Yearly Membership. Well, I am excited to say that I have been accepted back on to the Review Crew for 2015 and I have had the honor (and pleasure) of reviewing the SchoolhouseTeachers.com Yearly Membership again!

I am still very much impressed with this amazing internet-based homeschool curriculum. There are over 100 classes from Preschool to High School that include Art/Drama, Computer/Technology, Foreign Languages, Social Studies, Math, Music, Reading, Spelling, Science, and MORE!
The past few weeks though, for this review, I spent the majority of my time on the site in the courses that are for parents, specifically the Charlotte Mason Homeschooling course. At the beginning of this school year we switched over to a Charlotte Mason approach...well, at least we attempted to anyway. I really love what Charlotte Mason believed about education, it's "an atmosphere, a discipline, and a life." Homeschooling for us, is truly a lifestyle and our home definitely has a learning atmosphere but we were lacking in discipline coming from an extremely eclectic, relaxed mostly unschooling beginning. Although I bought several books in the beginning of the year to read to get a handle on this new homeschooling method, we have struggled a bit over the past few months with adapting to the Charlotte Mason approach and quite frankly I was ready to just "call it quits" and go back to our old ways. I was very pleased to see this course available at SchoolhouseTeachers.com. Now with just a couple weeks in to the course, I am feeling a new sense of direction and excitement to begin 2015 with more confidence in my choice to switch over to a Charlotte Mason approach.

Now while we are on a break for moving and Christmas, I will be planning out the remainder of our school year with several of the courses available at SchoolhouseTeachers.com, such as the Family Fitness course, the guitar lessons (for myself), the Reading Lab (for struggling and dyslexic readers) for Eli, and the Charlotte Mason Preschool lessons for Everett.
And I should also mention, in my
first review of SchoolhouseTeachers.com I did have one tiny complaint.
The Everyday Explorers-USA section (downloadable lessons and activities for studying the United States) was very time-consuming to search through and find the state that you wanted to study. I am happy to report, they fixed the problem. Now you can quickly go directly to the lessons of each completed state lessons and activities. I am looking forward to incorporating these lessons again with our Geo-boxes that we receive from
Homeschool Swapping Adventures.
Right now there is a fabulous, SUPER SALE happening! You can save up to $74 if you sign up by Christmas Day!
