As always we try to keep our homeschool curriculum as inexpensive as possible, utilizing what is availabe on the Internet as much as possible. There is so much out there now that it can be a little overwhelming at times trying to piece things together to get a well-rounded (inexpensive) curriculum. Our yearly budget for our homeschooling is roughly about $500 for 3 kids, which includes all of the necessary supplies....paper, printer ink, pencils, glue, crayons, etc...as well as books and such.

For our Bible studies, we will be using the Calvary Curriculums (Free). Doing a combination of the younger & older age lessons together, we will start with the schedule view of the Little One's curriculum.
I came across Easy Peasy All in One Homeschool (Free) last year after I set up our 2012-2013 Curriculum. So, I just pondered about it for awhile. This year we will use Easy Peasy as the "crutch" our 2013-2014 Curriculum for Preschool & Elementary.
Easy Peasy uses the McGuffey Readers for learning to read, we tried those this past year and Eli did not like them. Eli gets really frustrated with learning to read and is only reading a few words by sight right now. So we set out for a reading program while at the Homeschool Convention this past April. We found the Rocket Phonics Reading Program. We feel that Rocket Phonics will be a good fit for Eli because it is a multi-sensory & game-based program and he is a "multi-sensory & game-based" type of kid. This program is the only thing that we have purchased NEW ($150.00) for this year, but we did get a discount because we bought it at the convention.
Eli (8 years old) will start out with EP Math 1, however, we will probably quickly move onto EP Math 2 as Math seems to be his strong suite. I also picked up a second-hand copy of the Idea Book: For Cuisenaire Rods at the Primary Level ($3.00)
and some Cuisenaire Rods
($2.00) at the Homeschool Convention for some added hands-on math activities.

Eli will also be doing the EP Science-Zoology lessons with some added Apologia Zoology 1 (do you remember my review, we had planned to use it through this spring but never got to it).
For Social Studies we are going to be reading The Imagination Station book series
. There are some activities to go along with each book here. Since each book has a specific theme/topic we will read other books that we have on hand that pertain to the theme and create lapbooks for each book/theme. I bought the first two books ($5.00) of this series at the Homeschool Convention for half-price. I am hoping to find more at our local Half-price Books Store. (budgeted $35 for the year)

Everett (3 years old) will start out with EP Getting Ready 1. This will be our first year using an actual curriculum with Everett. Since EP Getting Ready 1 is technically for 4 & 5 years old children, we will most likely not supplement very much.

Michaela (17 years old) will be using the Adult Bible Class Curriculum from BibleClassBooks (Free).
Michaela will also be doing American Sign Language (Free) this year.
Easy Peasy High School is not organized yet, however, there are dozens of website links to review for use. These are the ones that Michaela will be using this year (All Free):

History of the World Wars (I & II)
We will also be doing something new this fall....we are joining a Homeschool Co-op ($100.00 for the year)! Classes for the co-op will include Geography, Christian Character, History, Civics, as well as, an emphasis on Service.
We still have plenty of basic supplies (markers, crayons, notebook paper, glue) on hand, so I will only be buying them when they are at an extreme stockpile sale price.
So far, only $290 of our $500 budget has been used. We need ink for our color printer and may need to buy a toner cartridge and drum unit for our laser printer, that may take up the rest of our budget for the year. But I will purchase all of that through Swagbucks so that I can turn my swagbucks into gift cards or PayPal cash for Christmas shopping!
