Simplified Pantry ~ Review

I was recently given the opportunity to review one (or all) of 3 e-books by Mystie Winckler at Simplified Pantry, Simplified Dinners, Simplified Dinners-Gluten/Dairy Free, and Paperless Home Organization.  I chose Paperless Home Organization for this review.

Paperless Home Organization is how-to guide to creating a digital homemaking binder.  I have attempted {several times} to create & use a home management binder.  I created most of the forms for it, made a pretty cover, spent at least 3 or 4 hours putting it all together....and it just sat there after the first couple of days....taunting me, shaming me for not using it.  The 2-inch 3 ring binder was just to bulky to carry around all of the time to keep track of every thing.

I purchased an iPad a few months ago for the family, so I was excited to start this review.

I started reading Paperless Home Organization, doing a quick run through before I started to apply all of the methods.  Ironically, I quickly realized that I am going to have to print out the e-book so that I can get started.  It was just to tedious trying to read the e-book on my iPad while implementing the set up of the system.  I have to say though that the initial set up of this Paperless System took longer than using a 3-ring binder.

Mystie uses apps, such as Evernote & Remember the Milk along with Google Mail & Calendar as the backbone of her paperless system.  I already use Google Calendar & Evernote.    For this system though I had to install Remember the Milk....truthfully after the initial set-up, I haven't used it anymore...I just didn't care for it.  Mainly because I use Evernote to keep all of my blogging notes, homeschool lesson ideas, to-do lists, and just about everything else I need to remember....I just didn't see the point to RTM.

I did learn a few new tricks with my Google email....like forwarding it to my yahoo account.  I have always tried to forward my multiple yahoo accounts into one, but it is "paid" option with yahoo...so I was excited to learn that I could forward my gmail to the email account that I use most often.  I also applied the "filtering" trick to my yahoo account....I LOVE IT!!!!

I am still applying & fine-tuning many of the suggestions in this e-book to my home organization method...although, I have realized that a strictly digital system doesn't work as well when you only have one device to share with the entire family...I think I may have to save up the money to buy another iPad, just for me, so that I can really go PAPERLESS!!!

Both Simplified Dinners books are $12.99 and Paperless Home Organization is $3.99, however, until June 3, 2013 you can use this code TOS2013 to get 30% off any or all of the e-books!
