Homeschool Mother's Journal #1 {2/24-3/2}

So, I have decided to start doing the Homeschool Mother's Journal meme-linky-thingy....I have thought about it for awhile but was a little confused initially about how it is supposed to be done.  I wasn't sure if you are supposed to do this at the end of each week as a "wrap-up" of our week or at the beginning of the week.

So, I just spent a little time reading through some of the other posts for awhile, most of which, are usually weekly "wrap-ups".  I am going to be doing mine a little differently though, I will be giving you a look into what our week is going {supposed} to look like....then hopefully do a follow-up/wrap-up post at the end of the week.

In my life this week....{also known as...My To-Do List}

I am running the sound board for church service this Sunday morning, then Alyssa and I are providing child care for a program at church in the afternoon.
I have Ladies Bible study(Monday), Youth Group(Wednesday), and Small Group Leadership training(Thursday) this week, as usual.
I am hoping to get a little extra cleaning and organizing accomplished around the house, it seems that it was slightly neglected this past week :(
I need to work on lesson plans for March.
I will be attending the Cincinnati Homeschool Convention in April, so I am going to get a jump start on my "game-plan" for all of the terrific workshops & seminars.

In our homeschool this week...

We are finally going to get to our "Alaska" unit study!  In January, some of our wonderful cousins that live in Alaska sent us a box full of some terrific goodies to help us learn about Alaska.

Places we're going & people we're seeing...

The usual stuff....Church, Bible study, band practice, youth group, small group leadership training.

Sometime this week we will have to have a special dinner for Eli....he is turning 8 on Saturday!!!!

A visit to see Nonny (my Grandmother), Caleb (our oldest son), and Neen (my Aunt), at some point this week and/or coming weekend.

Hubby has drill this coming weekend, so he will be headed to Kentucky.

Things I am working on...

Have you seen my post, Things to Learn About...from last week?  I have started working on the "April Edition".... it was a little hard to pick which holidays/events I will focus on, WOW,
April sure is full of exciting events to learn about!

Books I am reading...

For my Monday night Ladies Bible Study we are doing "The Magnificent Obsession" {Participant Guide} by Anne Graham Lotz.  I have ordered the chapter book this weekend and hope to get it soon, so that I can read it while doing this bible study.

A few weeks ago I received a copy of "Praying Circles around Your Children" by Mark Batterson from a giveaway over at A Simple Life, really?.  Well, I have finally had the opportunity to sit down to read it {well, most of it so far}....I am just a little over half-way through it and realized that I needed to get a copy of his other book "The Circle Maker", so I picked that up this weekend.

On our Prayer Board...

Michaela is currently in Tennessee for a LifeWay Girls Conference with one of our Youth Group leaders.  Praying for blessings and travel mercies.

My husband has drill this coming weekend, so we will be praying for travel mercies, and for safety & blessings during training.

We seem to have another little cold virus in the house, little Everett has been congested and coughing for a couple days.  My niece, Alyssa, also has it.   So, we are praying for a quick elimination of this virus!

Employment opportunities for a friends husband.

Employment opportunities for Alyssa.

Prayers for smooth operations of our daily/weekly schedule ;)

I hope you have enjoyed a glimpse into what our week holds for us!

God Bless,
Jenny
