A couple of weeks ago I sent in my application to be a part of the Schoolhouse Review Crew. This past week I received an email from their product review director that said I am in the running.....I almost fell out of my chair.....but I have to write and post a sample review of The Old Schoolhouse Magazine's November Issue.
So, what is this magazine you ask? The Old Schoolhouse Magazine is a FREE interactive-digital magazine that is written for homeschoolers both old and new alike.
Each issue is crammed full of encouragement, insight, and inspiration to help you along on your homeschooling journey. You will find a colorful presentation of articles written by fellow homeschoolers, helpful curriculum reviews, advertisements, and more.
One of my favorite things about this magazine is after each article you will find a paragraph about the author. For me, knowing a little about an author and how their life relates to mine, makes my reading experience a little more personal and applicable to my homeschool journey with my children.
As a busy homeschooling momma one of the benefits of having the The Old Schoolhouse Magazine in digital form is that it won't get misplaced or torn up by little hands before I am finished reading it. You can download the magazine to your computer for easy access. You can also print it out...I usually just print out the articles that I want to keep and put them in a binder for quick access.
The Old Schoolhouse Magazine also has a FREE app available for Apple, Kindle, & Android users.
The November issue is a 156 pages filled with great articles from several different styles of homeschooling. Whether you are an eclectic homeschooler or a classical homeschooler, you are going to find something helpful in this magazine!
You will get a sneak peek in to the life of another homeschooling family when you read the Show & Tell article-"Learning With the Lotts".
Do you need a plan for the week....there are 16 pages about the Amish, that includes a list of books, activities, questions, and recipes for putting together a Unit Study.
I really enjoyed reading "365 Ways to Simplify Your Life-An Interview with Patrice Lewis" and learning about her families decision to move away from the city to the country. It really hit close to home as my husband and I really hope to have a "farming" life sometime in the future. I will definately have to check out Patrice Lewis' book "The Simplicity Primer".
I am looking forward to reading "Crunching Through the Cracker Crumbs" to get some ideas on creating a chore list that will work for my family!
Also, the "Last-Minute Gifts Directory" and the Product Review section are going to be very helpful as I plan out our Christmas shopping this year.
I hope you enjoyed my review....now I am off to read that article!
Thanks for stopping by!
God Bless.
